Sophia, an Illinois native, developed her interest in fashion design when she traded her Legos and
Matchbox cars (she was not the Barbie type) for an abandoned sewing machine in her parents' attic. She
spent her childhood experimenting with commercial patterns and taking classes at the local fabric store
with women 4 to 5 times her age. When her fascination with all aspects of fashion design pursued her at
Loyola, Sophia knew fashion design was not just a hobby, it was her calling. After graduating from Loyola
University with a B.B.A in finance, Sophia moved to New York to attend Parsons and to work in the fashion
industry.

In 2008, sophia reyes was named one of Gen Art's Fresh Faces in Fashion.
